About Waxing
Waxing is a hair removal technique where we use Starpil soft & hard wax. One of the greatest benefits of waxing hair is that the more you wax, the less hair you will grow over time. First, we cleanse the area to remove any makeup, oils or lotions that may reduce the quality of your wax from taking place, then we will pick the perfect wax for your skin and service. After your wax, we will apply Post Retardant Emulsion to slow down further hair growth and last nut not least we will add the Post Epil Acid Cream which speeds up skin PH level recovery and restores skin moisture levels. This helps relieve potential irritation and provides utmost comfort for you!
The results of waxing and pulling the hair from the root, the results can last 2-3 weeks! A little discomfort is completely normal during your first time wax, but don’t worry, it will hurt less and less each time you visit as the root grows smaller. Fun fact, most pain comes from the anxiety thinking about waxing and not the actual wax. The more you stay relaxed and calm, the lower the pain will be. Not only does waxing remove hair, it’s a physical exfoliation that removes lifeless surface skin cells as well, this is why the skin turns a little red and VERY smooth!
Before Care
DO NOT tan the area you plan to wax 24 -48 hours before appointment. If you consume alcohol or significant amounts of caffeine before your reservation, both can cause your pores to tighten, resulting in a more uncomfortable experience. So lets stay away from that! Your hair should be at least a ¼ inch long (about the length of a grain of rice), to allow the wax to grip around the hair.
After Care
Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24 - 48 hours. This includes tanning, exercising, using lotion, or tight fighting clothing. To prevent ingrown hairs: starting a few days after your appointment and then continuing a couple of times every week, exfoliate the areas you get waxed this could be with an exfoliating glove or sugar scrub.
